Over the course of his career, Norman Kinel has been recognized repeatedly as a "Super Lawyer" in New York City. He capitalizes on three decades of experience to provide representation as a partner with Squire Patton Boggs, an international firm with more than 1,500 lawyers. Norman Kinel has worked on many high-profile bankruptcy cases, including those involving Lehman Brothers, Tavern on the Green, Adelphia Communications, and Enron Corporation. In 2014, ACG New York awarded as "Healthcare Deal of the Year" his representation of the unsecured creditors' committee during the reorganization of children’s psychiatric hospital KidsPeace Corp.
As a bankruptcy attorney, Norman Kinel has represented debtors and creditors, as well as other involved parties such as trustees, equity holders, and bondholders. He has handled many complex cases involving issues such as director and officer liability, automatic stay relief, and contested plan confirmations.
In addition, Norman Kinel has experience with mergers, acquisitions, and bankruptcy asset sales. He is also a registered bankruptcy mediator who was court-approved to undertake this role in the Lehman Brothers cases.
